The Luxembourg Esports Federation (LESF) is a non-profit association (association sans but lucratif) with the aim to promote esports in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as to federate esports stakeholders and represent their collective interests.

Esports is a fast-growing market. However, Luxembourg is still lagging behind other countries or regions in the process of recognizing the cultural significance of esports and its benefits towards the development of teamwork, leadership and cognitive skills.

One of the missions of the LESF is the official recognition of esports in Luxembourg as a sport in its own right next to traditional sports. The LESF does not pursue the idea to establish esports as a competitor or even rival to traditional sports, but intends to bring esports and traditional sports disciplines closer together irrespective of their analog or digital nature.

Digital athletes are fully-fledged athletes experiencing great physical and mental pressure during competitions, which highlights the importance of physical and mental fitness in esports. Hence, this is opening the path to collaboration between traditional sports and esports.

Esports enthusiasts, organizations and promoters can apply for an LESF-membership via the online form available on the LESF-website ( The membership is free for the first year.

The current board of the LESF is of temporary nature and is likely to change in the near future with the admission of new members.
